Wyes Buys, 21-23 The Oval
This is a community run charity shop, with clothes, shoes, accessories and more donated by the local community and sold at a low cost to raise funds for the Newton Farm Community Association. Open Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm.
British Heart Foundation Clearance Shop, 13 Eign Gate
Looking for some serious bargains? You’ll find second hand clothes, accessories, knick knacks and household items at this super low cost clearance shop, with donations going to the British Heart Foundation. You’re bound to get a lot of bang for your buck here! Open 7 days a week, 9.30am-5pm except Sundays, when it opens at 11am.
Blue Cross Charity Shop, 3 Widemarsh Street
From soft furnishings to greetings cards, clothes to books and so much more, this is a great spot to find bargains with proceeds going to help sick, injured and homeless pets. This is also somewhere where you can donate pet food, if you want to give back in a really tangible way by picking up a little something extra during your weekly food shop. Open Monday-Saturday, 9am-5pm.
National Star Charity Shop, 6A St. Peter’s Street
A really small but well put together charity shop where you’ll find clothes, books, accessories and more alongside some incredible student-made ceramics, fused glassware, and even handmade cards! There’s a hugely varied selection of items here, and they’re planning to open a second location in Gloucester soon. Funds raised go to supporting people with disabilities as they try to achieve their dreams. Open Monday-Saturday, 9am-4.30pm, and 10am-4pm on Sundays.
St Michael’s Hospice Charity Shops
This wonderful hospice actually has 17 charity shops in Hereford, with plenty of different ones to choose from – there’s four where everything is just a pound (one of these is on Eign Gate) as well as general charity shops and some ‘home and living’ stores too with furniture, linen and other household items. Check individual shops for their opening times!
Daisychain Benevolent Fund, 32 St. Owen’s Street
Raising funds for new medical equipment, refurbishment of wards, community support care, specialist nurses, training and development and much more, this well-stocked and regularly updated charity shop has a bit of everything. From clothes and cookware to books and accessories, take your pick! Open Monday-Saturday, 9.30am-4.30pm.
Dogs Trust, 34 Widemarsh Street
This is one of the most eclectic charity shops in Hereford, where you’ll definitely need to rummage but you’ll be rewarded with some fantastic gems at an affordable price! Open Monday-Saturday, 10am-4pm.
Oxfam Books & Music, 36 Broad Street
Now this is somewhere you could get lost in all day. There is an absolutely huge selection of second hand books, from rare and collectable publications to contemporary fiction spanning a wide range of genres, as well as sheet music, vinyl records, CDs and much more. If you’re a fan of physical media, this is the best secondhand shop in Hereford for you! Open Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, Saturdays 9.30am-5pm and Sundays 10.30am-3pm.
